Why Luis Suarez is the best Premier League striker

Having made so many bad signings over the last few years, Liverpool were spot on in their decision to splash more than 25 million euros on Luis Suarez, who seems to have already repaid much of the hefty transfer fee.

Everybody can see that the Uruguayan is absolutely vital to team's top 4 hopes, but I dare say he is not only the best Liverpool forward, but also the best striker in the entire Premier League. Here is why.

Suarez has scored 7 goals in 10 Premier…

Why do the refs keep favouring the big clubs?

Latest refereeing mistakes that occurred in England and Italy have caused a great deal of debate over the amount of help the big clubs all over Europe keep getting from the referees.

Even though most people refuse to believe there is any sort of conspiracy involved, it appears that Manchester United, Juventus and El Clasico rivals always get that little bit of help from the match officials in their respective leagues. It is now up to everyone to determine why that is the…

Can EPL still be considered top European league?

With the ongoing debate over the best European championship in mind, it is fair to say all those in favour of English Premier League have been dealt with a major blow at the start of the season.

Last night's Champions League results certainly gave us something to think about as Manchester City and Arsenal were beaten by Ajax and Schalke respectively. With Chelsea also defeated to Shakhtar and Manchester United coming from two goals behind to record a 3-2 victory over Braga,…

Football not meant to be played without forwards!

I believe that we will all agree that only Barcelona and maybe Spain can pull out fielding a team without a single forward in the squad, but even though I used to enjoy both sides play, I believe such tactics is ruining the beautiful game.

With the lack of depth and presence in the box that a centre forward usually provides, teams playing without one have no choice but to pass the ball around trying to find an empty space that one of the false forwards or attacking…

Colombia on the rise

Unable to qualify for the World Cup since 1998, Colombia entered the 2014 World Cup qualifiers full of hope and on the back of a promising showing at the 2011 Copa America.

After topping their group in front of Argentina, los Cafeteros were very unlucky to be defeated by Peru in the quarter-finals, but the good showings at a major tournament kept them in good stead for the start of the World Cup qualifiers.

Jose Pekerman's side got too to a great start, taking…

Brendan Rodgers not to blame for Liverpool's dismal start

Many people believed Liverpool would go to become genuine top 4 contenders immediately after the arrival of talented coach Brendan Rodgers, but the Reds have yet to hit the ground running.

Following the utterly disappointing season that saw the team take just 6 points from first 7 Premier League games, some football pundits are already calling for Rodgers to resign, but the former Swansea boss is hardly the man to blame for the recent under-par showings.

The…

Willian shows what the fuss is all about

Many people were surprised to hear that Shakhtar Donetsk had rejected bids of around 30 million pounds for star midfielder Willian in the January transfer window, with Tottenham and Chelsea both testing the Ukrainians' resolve.

However, if you have watched the Miners outclass mighty Juventus in Turin, then you probably know what the fuss was all about.

Willian was not the only Shakhtar player who impressed in last night's Champions League clash at Juventus…

Juventus destined for greatness

One of the most famous clubs in the world needed quite some time to return to the biggest stage following numerous problems they experienced over the years, but now that they have returned, the Bianconeri appear determined to remain where they belong.

They surprised many a football pundit by piping Milan to the Serie A title, but anyone who's seen them play of late cannot be surprised by their impressive results.

The team started the new season without Antonio…

Things hotting up in South America

While the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign in the European Zone has just began, teams from the South American Zone have already played seven games each (Venezuela played eight) and are nearing the midway of what is a very exciting campaign.

With Brazil out of the picture, we now have nine sides fighting for four places at the World Cup plus one play-off berth, and all the teams appear to be in with a shot of reaching the tournament finals.

As things stand…

The future: England's defence

Following the quarter-final defeat against Italy in the Euro's, questions were asked about our attack which on the night provided no goals, In fact one of the only shots we had came from RB Johnson.

After our bitter defeat, pundits solely focused on our depriving attack, saying Rooney under-performed and Young gave the ball away on too many occasions, and to which they did, but the pundits did little justice to compliment our defensive mechanism that saw us keep a clean sheet against…

Can Atletico keep hold of Falcao?

Top European clubs have been wasting piles of cash on strikers who seem to forgot their scoring boots as soon as they sign for a new club, but there is one man who keeps scoring goals for fun and he is yet to be snatched by a genuine world-class side.

I am obviously talking about Radamel Falcao Garcia, arguably world's best striker at the moment. The Colombian has been scoring goals with amazing ease since he started his career at River Plate and while he was always followed…

Hulk and Witsel sign for... Zenit!?

Porto forward Hulk and Benfica midfielder Axel Witsel have been one of the most sought-after players in world football during the summer transfer window, so no wonder their decision to sign for Russian Premier League champions Zenit have been causing a lot of controversy.

There is a possibility that not much depended on the players themselves as their clubs saw a great opportunity to earn substantial transfer fees, but they could have simply refused to sign for the Russian…

Where will Luka Modric fit at Real?

The longest transfer saga of the summer has finally ended as Luka Modric completed a switch to Real Madrid worth between 27 and 33 million pounds, and this will be a huge boost for the club after los Blancos picked up just one point out of possible six at the start to the season.

Everybody knows that Luka Modric is rightly considered one of the best central midfielders in world football, but just where is he going to play for Real Madrid.

Ever since he arrived…

David Moyes - a master tactician

Everton boss David Moyes may just be one of the most underrated managers in world football even if he is often congratulated for his exploits with the Toffees. Despite operating on a very tight budget, the Scottish coach has become famous for getting the best out of some pretty average players and that goes to show his managerial credentials.

It is easy for Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola to win games with so much talent in the squad, but try beating Manchester United with the…

The Olympic Tournament - a positive or negative experience for Brazil?

With the Olympics trophy the only major title missing from Brazil's trophy cabinet, boss Mano Menezes was always going to take the 2012 Summer Games very seriously. He even used the senior squad friendlies to call the team that were likely to represent the nation in London and that proved the Seleccao were going the extra mile to win the coveted trophy.

Brazil started the tournament in style, winning all three group games and scoring nine goals in the process, before…

Why Tottenham should sign Leandro Damiao?

It's been a while since Tottenham last had a proven goalscorer in the squad, as Dimitar Berbatov was the last Spurs player who could score goals on regular basis.

With that in mind and the fact that most of the goals last season were scored by midfielders Van der Vaart and Bale, it is hardly surprising that Spurs are searching for a new striker, especially given that Emmanuel Adebayor's proposed move has fallen through.

For over a year now, Tottenham have been…

Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin nearing Arsenal switch

BBC Sport reports that Arsenal are attempting to sign Santi Cazorla on a permanent deal from Malaga and Nuri Sahin on season-long loan from Real Madrid, which could mean that Arsene Wenger is about to change his infamous transfer policy.

The Frenchman has done brilliantly to groom some virtually unknown players into Premier League stars during his long reign at Arsenal, but following initial success with the likes of Henry, Pires, Bergkamp, Vieira and co., he has utterly…

Pre-season football offering premium excitement

As top European sides are still trying to get in the best possible shape by playing pre-season friendlies, the smaller sides are taking part in Champions League and Europa League qualifying stages, whereas the Men's Football Tournament at the 2012 Olympics is also under way.

Even if many of you were not really expecting to see some memorable clashes or big surprises during the last few weeks, the reality is we have witnessed football at its best in some of those…

Zeman's Roma slowly taking shape

Without a doubt, AS Roma were one of the biggest disappointments in the previous Serie A campaign as the Italian giants ended the season in 7th place, despite the heavy summer recruitment.

As a result, coach Luis Enrique decided to step down from the post, with the club chiefs bringing controversial Zdenek Zeman back to the club. The Czech coach had just gained promotion with Pescara, but he just couldn't resist the temptation of joining the Olimpico…
